Mullany appeared to him in a vision and spoke:   Master Mullany: Pitch the ball. What do you hear? Young Schultenover: I hear the air, I hear the ground. Mullany: Do you hear the whiff of your opponent? Schultenover: No. Mullany: Do you hear the pang of the strike zone? Schultenover: Old man, how is it that you make these noises?
