2016 Tournament Summary
Those feisty Meister's did it again! In 2016, the MeisterGators played in a 4th
consecutive Championship game. This time, however, they came in as the defending Champions. And this time they faced none
other than Dave Hume's Homeboys for Wiffle Gold. And despite a furious final inning rally from the Homey's, those sheisters
catered a cup of silence to all detractors and claimed - for a second year in a row - Wiffle Honor and ice cold Budweiser.
Was the acquisition of Jeff Freier from the Homeboys two years prior the reason for their recent successes?
Is it some super-food now served up at Meister's Bar & Grill that provides the fuel to victory? Or is it the legendary
name "Mullaney" donned by the one they call "Kevin" that is key to their good fortune? It's anyone's guess, but the real
question for everyone else should be: When does gator season start?
The ON-CALLS tried to pull a fast one on everybody by entering the tourney as "THE
REPLACEMENTS". But the sham was busted and swiftly mocked after the second inning of their first game when the team just
could not shake their trademark terrible. It's been common knowledge that one Huberty generally spells doom, but add two
or more and some cohorts to the mix and you got yourself the makings of a genuine all-out cluster @#$%. BWOS-ON call.
The WIFFLE WONDERS performed
admirably in their inaugural season, taking two of their four games and avoiding any chance of wiffle shame. Do they have
the right stuff to warrant recognition? Or better yet, honor? I wonder.
